Touring Corvette Assembly that is.
They make putting a car together look so easy. And the attention to detail is amazing, I can’t even imagine if they put that much effort into a Chevy what BMW does to a Rolls.
No pictures in the plant because no phones or anything allowed, but I’ve seen the replacement for Laguna Blue in person and am no longer sad of its demise. Admiral Blue looks amazing.
I did learn that they do absolutely no dealer stock orders. Every Corvette is ordered and paid for in full before it’s built. So I guess whichever ones are stocked at dealers had their options hand selected.
They’re adding a 450,000 sq-ft paint shop which is supposed to be done in about a year. Guess I’ll have to go back.
Well, and again when I’m older and buy a Vette and have to pick it up, because that’s happening dammit.

I’ve visited the sinkhole museum many times but never the assembly plant.

Been there a few times over the last ~20 years. It is amazing.
They always do leave some newer color or model out for the tours. ;)
I remember seeing test mules for the c6 which were covered but ever so conveniently the blanket was lifted on one corner and we got a peak of the wheel arch-gill panel area
Awesome place. My dad visited the St. Louis plant long ago and they would let tour members bolt the lug nuts on the cars haha

I’m going there tomorrow to drive a Gallardo on the track. Then we have a tour on Monday. Good stuff. Trying to get the parents to go to the Pickett Parl dark site to look at the stars tonight, but they aren't a huge fan of the two hour drive there.
